  • Specific Responsibilities

    The Director of Finance will have the primary day-to-day responsibility for financial analysis, planning, managing and controlling various financial-related activities of the Kids division. This will include responsibilities within finance, forecasting, strategic planning, budgeting and accounting.

    • Provides timely and accurate analysis of actual monthly results, budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
    • Prepares various monthly financial reports, provide analysis of results, and assists in analyzing risks and opportunities.
    • Prepares profit by brand schedule on a monthly basis.
    • Prepares payroll and headcount analysis on a monthly basis.
    • Prepares journal entries as needed.
    • Assists VP with month end close. 
    • Provides support and general ledger analysis from SAP as needed.
    • Takes hands-on position of developing, implementing, and maintaining an on-going cost cutting system. Compiles key performance metrics for the management team.
    • Works with Greensboro accounting team, to coordinate divisional specific functions.
    • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with division heads so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
    • Provides management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
    • Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
    • Special projects as they become necessary.

    Skills and Requirements

    • BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
    • 5-10 years in progressively responsible financial roles, preferably in wholesale apparel or consumer products industries.
    • Experience working in a wholesale business.
    • Proficient in Excel. Familiarity with SAP and BPC a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
    • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
    • Hands on, likes to roll up sleeves and “get it done” while also being a strategic thinker.
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
    • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment.
