  • Specific Responsibilities

    The Systems Engineer is responsible for the proactive administration of the hardware platforms, operating systems and the dependent services for GBG USA.  This includes the configuration, installation, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of server hardware, operating systems, and services, resolving outages and documenting designs, processes and procedures.  This position will be involved with global enterprise projects and design.  Also included are architecture, R&D, capacity and performance analysis, configuration, change and release management, availability trending and reporting across these systems and services.

    • Operate, manage and maintain a Microsoft suite of management tools (System Center/OMS). Specifically, manage SCCM for server maintenance/patching.
    • Responsible for the administration of VMware ESX Server in a large enterprise clustered/high availability environment
    • Manage and operate Microsoft Server platforms and technologies
    • Establish, oversee, and operate multi-vendor storage environment. (IBM, Netapp, etc,)
    • Manage and oversee back-up strategies and data loss risk remediation
    • Develop and maintain appropriate and associated policies and procedures
    • Active Directory administration and design, group policy.
    • Manage and oversee Office365 multi-site environment of at least 6,000 users
    • Provide and commit to customer-focused, quality service
    • Lead teams, work in a team environment, or work independently – manage projects
    • Leverage MS Azure cloud-based infrastructure
    • Citrix Administration.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelors’ degree in Information Systems (or equivalent) preferred.
    • 8+ years of experience in the IT/IT Related Industry.
    • 5-8+ years of hands on experience with Microsoft Windows Server as a Sr. Systems Engineer.
    • 4+ years hands on experience with VMware ESXi.
    • Skill and experience managing a large virtual environment.
    • Skill and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in an SAP environment.
    • MCSE certification is a plus.
    • VMware VCP certification is a plus.
    • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to travel.
    • Ability and availability to work occasional nights’/weekends assignments as necessary.
    • All other duties as assigned.
