    INTERNSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
    GBG is seeking a Summer Intern to join our dynamic Global Internal Communications team to support the company’s social impact program. This person will support and coordinate a wide variety of projects and initiatives currently being developed and executed under GBG’s Gives Back philanthropy program. Candidate will gain exposure to the company’s employee volunteerism program, assist with global and local charitable initiatives, and support the writing of social impact communication stories to be posted on the company’s intranet. The role will be based in our corporate offices in New York City.

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Employee Volunteer Coordination
    • Assist with employee charitable initiatives’ special events logistics and coordination
    • Track, report and analyze volunteer activities and hours
    • Troubleshoot employee volunteer inquiries

     

    Internal Communications
    • Assist with writing of social impact stories on company’s intranet
    • Work with key stakeholders to communicate social impact events
    • Help archive social impact stories on company’s intranet
    • Support the communications roll-out of Global Brands for Global Good campaign

     

    Benchmarking Analysis
    • Conduct analysis of industry standards and best practices in social impact initiatives
    • Identify new CSR trends and programs, specifically employee volunteer programs
    • Support employee survey and/or focus groups to gain insights for program improvement

     

    Social Impact Campaign Administrative Support
    • Support the development of company’s annual signature social impact campaigns
    • Assist with social impact initiatives including any invoice processing, presentation updates and/or other administrative duties

     

    Skills and Requirements

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work in NYC for the full 10-week program from June 4, 2018 to August 10, 2018
    • Matriculated in Bachelor’s degree – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or related field preferred
    • Passion for philanthropy and charity
    • Organized, detail-oriented 
    • Team player with the ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a variety of internal and external customers.
    • Enthusiasm and great attitude
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus
