  • Specific Responsibilities


    This position will oversee Spyder Operations from a distribution and outbound logistics perspective. The Director of Operations will be responsible for the day to day operations, managing the 3PL to ensure delivery in-full, on-time, achieve brand revenue targets, and manage distribution and freight costs.  This position will also drive strategic initiatives such as evaluate/develop global distribution strategy, identify and drive cost-saving initiatives, improve speed to market, and support key growth initiatives. This role will also collaborate with the European operations to ensure alignment as well as leveraging best practices across the markets.


    • Distribution Management
      • Manage to seasonal delivery targets and revenue plan
      • Provide rolling forecasts to 3PL (pre-season, monthly, weekly volume estimates) to plan capacity and labor
      • Coordinate with Sales, Retail, Marketing on in-season initiatives that may impact volume projections
      • Manage customer compliance requirements with Dealer Services, Operations, and 3PL teams.
      • Monitor & track customer chargebacks and ensure timely correction of errors to mitigate going forward
      • Drive Shipping scorecard and revenue forecast meetings in-season to ensure alignment of our projected revenue against forecast and budget. Coordinate between Sales, Inbound Ops, Dealer Services, and Finance
      • Provide weekly distribution KPIs/metrics to leadership
      • Oversee daily order drops to the 3PL
      • Manage inventory accuracy within 3PL to ensure accurate reporting as well as availability on Spyder.com
      • Manage special projects (end of season returns, special VAS projects, etc)
    • Outbound Logistics
      • Align with 3PL on customer routing requirements, ensure understanding and compliance
      • Partner with key transportation companies to ensure on-time delivery and improve speed to market (intra-Canada and International shipping from US)
      • Manage duty drawback process, if applicable
      • Evaluate freight costs and indentify opportunities for cost savings via shipment consolidation, etc.
      • Ensure communication from 3PL to Dealer Services and Customer Service teams to provide timely information (i.e. ETAs to customers) on outbound shipments
    • Strategic Projects
      • Identify and evaluate cost-savings opportunities, driving efficiencies within the warehouse and/or with transportation (i.e. carton optimization, pack sizes, replenishment models)
      • Sell-in ideas to Spyder Leadership and parent company Operational heads
      • Evaluate Europe/Asia/US operations and distribution models to identify opportunities to leverage inventory and improve speed to market
      • Collaborate with GBG Operations leaders to identify opportunities to leverage GBG distribution and logistics networks
    • Spyder Operations Team
      • Manage efforts of team members

    Coach and Develop team to next level performance and execution

    Skills and Requirements


    • Requires a BA (or equivalent) in Business, Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain
    • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in the Operations/Supply Chain field
    • Strong analytical skills, ability to leverage systems to access data effectively
    • Strong communication skills, clear and concise with the end result in mind
    • Ability to synthesize information to create executive level presentations/reports
    • Ability to drive to seasonal deadlines and work well in a cross-functional team environment
    • Advanced MS Excel skills required
    • Experience with 3PLs, Transportation companies
    • Apparel or Footwear Industry operations or supply chain experience a plus
    • SAP and JDE experience preferred
