Specific Responsibilities

  • Process and file contracts with Ocean carriers (CY, CFS/CY, LCL, Intermodal and rail).
  • Create and maintain carrier rates.
  • Interact with legal in ensuring contractual compliance of all carrier agreements.
  • Maintain upkeep of all ocean, brokerage and forwarder contracted rates.
  • Maintain Schedule As to ensure all rates and lanes are included and up to date in Freight Matrix.
  • Onboard carriers following bid outcomes.
  • Maintain relationships with prospective carriers and ensure alignment with the company’s capacity needs.
  • Lead carrier scorecard creation and management with top common carriers.
  • Lead or participate on special projects as directed by the Manager – Freight Administration.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or related Logistics field. Minimum 3 years total experience, including education and related work experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SAP and other related software.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills to work with large amounts of data and numbers.
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills, as well as self-directed work management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work flows simultaneously..
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Experience in interacting with Ocean carriers and rate management required.
