Assistant Production Manager - BCBG Hardwovens


Specific Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Oversee the Production Coordinators to ensure that all daily tasks are completed in a timely manner, working closely and addressing any issues or questions that may arise
  • Assist the Production Manager in executing and reinforcing both team and Production objectives as discussed in regular one-on-one and group meetings
  • Manage the pre-costing process, compiling and analyzing design cards, markers, fabric specs, and trim specs to estimate the most realistic and accurate pricing for all styles
  • Negotiate with garment vendors and/or fabric/trim mills in order to achieve best possible pricing and deliveries for every style at all stages of costing.
  • Obtain time and action calendar information from all vendors with prices and communicate the information to planning and merchandising in a timely manner. All schedules should be set up using the most effective shipping method
  • Communicate confirmed orders to internal teams and garment vendors.
  • Manage and review all confirmed costs and deliveries through the WIP, ensuring all systems and PO’s reflect correct costs and delivery dates for vendors and other departments.
  • Supervise that all styles comply with established testing protocols through the approval of garment, sweater, fabric, color block tests and care labels
  • Ensure all products are in compliance with BCBG policies and procedures
  • Assist the Production Manager in maintaining accurate reporting of all outstanding issues regarding the Work in Progress for all responsible divisions. Closely manage WIP by holding vendors accountable to ship dates and enforcing late penalties as needed. Work with all vendor/agents to receive and review standard WIP reports weekly to ensure production schedule is on time.
  • Interact with and monitor design on product development tasks
  • Work closely with fabric research department and fabric mills on bulk fabric approval and lab dip process once line is presented
  • Facilitate all trim coordination including purchases, track delivery and development (in some cases). Work closely with fabric buying teams to ensure that fabric production and delivery remains on time.
  • Review all cutting reports/fabric recaps with fabric buying team and planning teams
  • Work closely with fabric buying team and garment vendors to address any bulk fabric issues
  • Coordinate the efforts of product development with weekly meetings involving Planning, Fabric Research, Fabric Purchasing, Technical Design and Design
  • Engage in and facilitate daily communication with various internal BCBG teams, overseas/domestic vendors to address all Production related issues
  • Document all charge-backs and non-compliance issues for senior management to review
  • Ensure that all orders are sent to factories in a timely manner, negotiate discounts with factory after approval from Planning
  • Train and develop staff to advance to the next level
