Specific Responsibilities

The Brand Manager will be responsible to oversee day to day management of brand program, including client relations, licensee and retail relationships; manage and monitor licensees in support of brand business objectives and sales budgets and pro-actively identify growth opportunities and retail specific initiatives.

  • Assist in the development and oversee the implementation of licensing strategy in support of revenue goals.
  • Day to day liaison between client, internal team and licensees; obtain and communicate regular updates on retail sales, marketing/promotional and product development initiatives to ensure all opportunities are maximized.
  • Manage and guide licensees on yearly and quarterly forecasting.
  • Interface with Licensees on product development, approvals, marketing and other creative projects/initiatives.
  • Prepare status reports for client, licensees and internal teams as needed on state of the overall business.
  • Prepare agenda and manage regularly scheduled internal team meetings and meetings/call with client; ensure that sales, marketing and all updates have been prepared by the team and ready for presentation.
  • Monitor licensee contractual compliance (product, distribution, advertising and rights).
  • Obtain and communicate regular updates on retail sales, marketing/promotional and product development initiatives to ensure all opportunities are maximized.
  • Coordinate tradeshow activities with licensees, internal sales team and client as appropriate.
  • Work to identify and execute on synergies between licensees and brand owner. Cross pollinate pertinent information across all stakeholders and facilitate problem solving and solutions for day to day needs of licensees and client.
  • Create/adapt sales and brand presentations and sell sheets as necessary to support sales/retail initiatives.
  • Manage marketing budget; execute marketing plans and manage marketing support initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of brand and company revenue targets working with licensees, brand team, finance dept., and licensees, analyze results and ensure that business objectives are being met.
  • Interface with creative/marketing services on licensee product development, approvals, and other creative projects/initiatives.
  • Regular trend watching at retail and research on competitors to help guide licensees and educate client on market trends.
  • Attend key retail meetings with licensees.

Skills and Requirements

  • At least 3+ years in brand management, preferably in fashion and beauty.
  • Experience in licensing brand management in-house or at a licensing agency.
  • Fast paced environment requires a dedicated self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit. 
  • Strong inter-personal, communication and organizational skills required.
  • Detail oriented project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build compelling presentations.
  • Passion for building and maintaining relationships.
  • A business builder that can plan and execute with strong analytical abilities and translate insights into strategic and tactical plans.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing/influencing teams and implementing key business initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience applying knowledge of business drivers to identify key indicators including budget development and tracking, and financial forecasting.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
