Retail Management

Specific Responsibilities




Operational EXCELLENCE (valid for branch and partner shops):

  • Overall responsible for business operations and financial results of the POS portfolio assigned to, on national level
  • Develop, coach, and optimize outputs of the human resources
  • Control, review and improve the processes of the GBG’s Operations department are followed by the team
  • Ensure consumers in GBG’s brand POS are served well in pleasant shopping environments
  • Cooperate with the various franchisees he/she is in charge for in order to promote excellent operational standards and brand images
  • Support sufficient stock replenishments with stock density in alignment with shop sales target, actual sales performance and shop equipment capacities
  • Ensure effective and pro-active communication with the organization up and down.
  • Ensure the implementation of the audit requirements covering branch and partner shop operations (cash, stock management, people related)
  • Ensure shrinkage and stock loss measures are implemented and enforced in all branch shops, strive for continuous improvements in overall shrinkage.


Budget and P&L control and management:

  • The Director Retail & Franchise Operations is also responsible for reaching the profitability targets of the shops on national level
  • Responsible for setting ambitious but achievable commission and incentive schemes in alignment with annual budget and monthly LE
  • Ensure partner payments will be received timely and help to get branch invoices from landlords where necessary


Visual Merchandising

  • Ensure company VM guidelines are implemented strictly
  • Work closely together with the VM organization to ensure POS compliances
  • Give timely feedback on positive and negative elements to GBG’s HQ VM organization


Team Management

  • Ensure good quality regional managers, shop managers and shop teams are on-board (through selection, training, coaching, behavior adjustment) and work closely with the Human Resources functions
  • Develop and build team (and talent) pipeline to ensure the company expansion plans and improve the capabilities in the shops
  • Lead and coach the Regional teams to reach high levels of performances
  • Set clear objectives to the team members and ensure that all of them complete their tasks as required
  • Communicate and give accurate directions to the team in order to let them know about the decisions taken
  • Actively manage team’s productivity and shifting


Business Development

  • Cooperate closely with HQ Finance and Business Development departments to ensure smooth and healthy network expansion
  • Buliding relations with partners and operation teams of shopping malls, department stores and hypermarkets, and by supporting in identifying and assessment of new locations and projects
  • Responsible for the opening of new shops (as assigned by Director of Operations), including all preparations related to later operations, such as recruitment, training of staff, VIM set up etc.
  • Pro-actively drive and implement measures to improve sales to the planned/target level
  • Ensure new shops are opened timely and pre-opening costs are managed in the most effective ways

To be successful in this role, she/he needs to be a strong people leader and retail operator who can work on a high level of independency and has enough maturity to gain respect in the organization through effective communication and a strong understanding of the key drivers of success.
