Specific Responsibilities

Global Brands Group is seeking an innovative and forward thinking 3D Technical Manager for our New York City office.  The 3D Technical Manager will be an integral part of the corporate operations team as rollout 3D Design solutions company wide.

Responsibilities:

  • Revise existing patterns and establish a digital block pattern library.
  • Create 3D virtual samples from flat pattern files (training provided for the right candidate).
  • Develop accurate sample & production patterns based on sketches from the design department.
  • Participate in fittings and solve any fit or balance problems.
  • Apply technical expertise to trouble shoot and remove bottle necks in development process.
  • Identify problems and/or opportunities, make recommendations and take a leadership role with the implementation of solutions that improve department efficiency and quality of garment development.

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years' solid work experience making production patterns in a high volume environment.
  • Draping and flat pattern making skills.
  • Digital patternmaking experience in software such as Optitex, Lectra, and Gerber.
  • Experience with 3D software a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, sewing, technical drawing, measuring and fitting.
  • Ability to work across categories including  shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, blouses, outerwear, jackets, and tailored garments.
  • Experience with Childrenswear and Womenswear.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention-to-detail and excellent follow-up and follow through skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to innovate and problem solve both independently and collaboratively in fittings.
  • Strong people skills.
