Specific Responsibilities

The Designer drives the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by supervising a team of designers to create original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs and drive sales, managing the timely execution of each stage in the process, and coordinating across categories to ensure consistent quality and look.

 

  • Responsible for the design and development of Leather Accessories and Handbags.
  • Ability to conduct market research for seasonal trends, themes, colors, materials, etc.
  • Prepare all presentation boards for any internal/external meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to create and execute all products for the division.
  • Ability to create original artwork in the computer.
  • Experience in shopping stores and keep current on the latest trend appropriate to the brands.

Skills and Requirements

  • A.S. or B.A. from any art and design college; major - preferably in Accessories Design (Belts/SLG's/Handbags).
  • 7+ years Design experience required in Men's and Women's Accessories with a concentration on Handbags for a luxury or upscale brand.
  • Global travel and sourcing experienced a plus.
  • Experience communicating and working with Asia preferred.
  • Proficient with the following programs: Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Word, & Solid Works.
  • Facilitate communication between licensee and licensor of branded product.
  • Complete all tasks according to corporate T/A calendar. 
  • A team player with the ability to handle high stress work environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task.
